Security & Compliance Notes
Fax Echo is a mobile client that operates on top of your eFax Corporate environment. All access controls, retention policies, and security settings are enforced through eFax Corporate.
- Encrypted communication: TLS 1.2+ for all network traffic.
- Device protections: Credentials stored securely in iOS Keychain; supports biometric unlock.
- Minimal local storage: Faxes are read-only; local downloads are disabled to reduce risk.
- User control: Users can delete local app data (including reply, archive, and spam metadata), remove fax visibility within Fax Echo, and revoke app access at any time. Fax data stored in eFax Corporate remains subject to eFax Corporate retention and administrative policies.
Fax Echo itself does not hold HIPAA, SOC2, or other regulatory certifications. Users are responsible for complying with applicable privacy, security, and regulatory requirements when handling sensitive data. If your firm requires formal audits or enterprise controls (for example,SOC2 Type 2, HIPAA), we’re happy to discuss contractual or project-based options.
eFax Corporate is certified to HITRUST and compliant with SOC 2 Type II, which covers frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001/27002, PCI, and applicable U.S. state privacy laws. These certifications apply to the eFax Corporate platform and do not extend independently to third-party client applications such as Fax Echo.
